We successfully installed the Eastern culvert at the Bloor Homes development in Rochford.

MACL successfully installed the Eastern culvert at the Bloor Homes development in Rochford, working alongside FP McCann, our primary precast concrete (PCC) supplier.

The project involved the careful preparation and placement of the main culvert units and their associated PCC walls, forming the inlet and outlet structures.

As part of the works, flood alleviation headwalls were installed ahead of the gabion walls, which provide the final structural finish to the inlet and outlet. The installation was closely monitored by Essex Highways Structures Department, the adopting authority, and CWT Structural Engineering Consultants, ensuring all work met the required specifications.

Originally planned as a ten-week programme, the project was extended to approximately 20 weeks due to unforeseen factors, including the discovery of a disused badger sett and the need to complete additional structural elements. Despite these challenges, the installation was delivered to a high standard, ensuring durability and long-term performance.
