New apprentices join MACL family

A new cohort of groundworkers have joined M. Anderson Construction sites this quarter.

The team of eight are the new recruits to the MACL Apprenticeship Scheme which has been running more than 20 years.

Dylan, Sonny, Joe, Luke, Tyla, Brandon, Josh, and Alfie have joined the groundworks team and are already hands-on at our sites across Essex.

They are set to gain practical experience and earn qualifications that will kick-start their careers in the construction industry – and we are thrilled to be welcoming them to the team.

Joining the team

Dylan Ludlow, 16, from Witham,, has joined the team at Silver End. He said: “I wanted to start working as soon as I finished school and liked the idea of manual work. I am working towards becoming the best groundworker that I can be.”

Sonny Booker, 16, from Witham, is based at our Witham site. He said: “After seeing a development being built by Anderson I became interested in the job opportunities available for myself and applied for their  apprenticeship scheme.”

Joe Burton-Soriano, 16, from Chelmer Village, has joined our apprenticeship scheme. He said: “I wanted to start my career early without spending two years at college and this scheme was perfect. I am looking forward to progressing in my career and learning new things.”

Luke Keyworth, 16, from Colchester, is joining us on the Heybridge site. He said: “I am excited to develop new skills that will help me to become the best worker that I can be. I chose this apprenticeship after finishing school as I wanted to earn money while learning instead of going to college.”

Tyla Grant, 16, from Canvey Island, has joined the team of groundworkers at the Coggeshall development. He said: “I love the thought of manual work as I believe it makes your mindset stronger. The main benefit for me has been gaining motivation in the early mornings.”

Brandon Cooper, 16 from Earls Colne, is based at our Coggeshall site along with Tyla. He said: “I enjoy the opportunities to be able to learn new things and thrive from the manual side of working.”

Josh Richies, 16, from Chelmsford, is based at our Beaulieu site. He said: “I am looking forward to learning more about groundworks and believe that I will do well as my career progresses.”

Alfie Wells, 16, from Witham, is working alongside Sonny at our Witham development. He said: “Like a few of the other apprentices, I wanted to start working as soon as possible, I learn better from doing manual work than I do sitting behind a desk and so this opportunity stood out to me as something that I could see myself doing well in.”
