Determined runners raise thousands in London Marathon challenge for Essex charities

Runners from MACL, along with their friends and family, raised an amazing £25,000 by taking on this year’s London Marathon for the Anderson Foundation – to support the work of two amazing charities.

Andrew Jay, Derry Jay, Inge Nijkamp and Liam Crancher all took on the world-famous 26.2-mile route on behalf of BASICS Essex, a charity made up of volunteer doctors and paramedics who respond to incidents at the request of the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

Meanwhile Stefan Haylock, Nathan Gillie and Jessica Harrison ran for the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity – which supports people living with cancer in Essex.

Winding their way through the capital, the runners took in some of the most famous landmarks in the city – including Buckingham Palace, The Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf.
